Dear CWHCM Member,
It is time for the annual dues renewal for Connecticut Women in HealthCare Management (CWHCM) along with an exciting change for CWHCM. It has become difficult over the past few years for a small organization to alone provide our membership with exceptional value for your membership dollars. In fact over the past two years, we have co-sponsored a number of networking and healthcare program events with other organizations including the Connecticut Chapter of ACHE. The CWHCM Board has accepted an option to fully merge CWHCM with ACHE; beginning October 1, 2010. We are delighted to announce that CWHCM will continue to serve our membership through a Women's forum council within the CT Chapter of the ACHE structure; no longer as an independent women's organization.
During this transition only, your renewal with CWHCM will actually buy you membership with the ACHE. When you return your $60 dues renewal (checks payable to CWHCM) please include the completed ACHE application and mail to Linda Milton, 59 February Drive, Southington, CT 06489. CWHCM will cover the additional balance of $90 for your 18 month dues covering your initial one year membership in ACHE. Please remember, if you apply to ACHE directly through the web or otherwise, you will forfeit the CWHCM contribution and be accountable for the full $150 dues.
With ACHE membership, you gain access to numerous invaluable resources to help you achieve your career goals:
- Education, certification, professional networking.
- Be among leaders in healthcare management (Access to the C-Suite)
- Grow professionally and excel in your job
- Enjoy greater satisfaction and career potential
- Contribute to and give back to your profession
- An affiliates-only Job Bank with nearly 1,000 healthcare management positions
- Resume posting to help you reach leading healthcare employers and recruiters who value ACHE affiliation
- Assessments and career management tools
- Coaching and mentoring match services
ACHE offers a variety of local and national educational programs designed to fit your professional development goals, schedule and budget:
- An annual Congress on Healthcare Leadership
- Face-to-face seminars offered through local clusters
- Special Programs geared toward specific audiences, like CEOs
- Convenient webinars and online seminars offered through ACHe-learning
- Publications, including a subscription to Healthcare Executive magazine and your choice of either the Journal of Healthcare Management or Frontiers of Health Services Management, and cutting-edge books
Please go to www.ctahe.ache.org for more information. The Connecticut Chapter ACHE also has a web site and CWHCM will have pages/links off that page to post additional women's forum events and issues.
Please note this is a time bounded option. You will need to review the information, complete your application, and submit it with a check for $60 (payable to CWHCM) to the address above BEFORE October 1, 2010. Any applications received with a postmark after that date will be returned and you can submit your request with a check for $150 to ACHE directly and will not be eligible for the CWHCM subsidy of $90 for the initial membership..
Please feel free to contact either myself or any member of the CWHCM Board if you have questions or need additional information. On behalf of the CWHCM Board of Directors, thank you for your membership with CWHCM. We are confident that the merger with ACHE will bring new opportunities and renewed interest for our membership. We have two great programs already planned for this year; October 14th at Gaylord - Merck is sponsoring a seminar on Patient Centered Medical Home and in November a session on Health Literacy.
Sincerely,
Linda Milton, MPH, CPHQ, FACHE
